Jessica Eva Katarina Samuelsson (born March 14, 1985 in Nacka ) is a former Swedish heptathlete .
Athletic career
In 2005 Jessica Samuelsson took part in the U23 European Championships in Erfurt and finished eighth there. At the U23 European Championships two years later, she finished 13th. At the 2007 World Championships , she was 29th. At the Hypo-Meeting 2008, she was 15th. In 2009, she was thirteenth at the Hypo-Meeting, first at the Summer Universiade and at the World Championships seventeenth. In 2010 she finished tenth at the European Championships in Barcelona .
In 2011, she set her best performance of 4497 points at the European Indoor Championships and was fifth. She finished the world championships in Daegu in 16th place. In 2012 she reached sixth place at the European Championships in Helsinki . At the Summer Olympics in London, she achieved the highest number of points of her career and finished in 14th place. Her last major international event was the European Championships in Zurich , which she did not finish. At the end of 2016, she announced that she was ending her professional career.
In her career she won over 30 medals in 10 different sports at Swedish championships.
In 2010 she was awarded the 'Stor Grabb' (in German: Big Boy) for her sporting success. Furthermore, Samuelsson is in a relationship with the Swedish sprinter Johan Wissman .
