At his next station, EC Deilinghofen , he was the first full-time coach in the club's history. In the 1971/72 season , the team he trained reached third place in the league . Second place was achieved with good fitness work. But then Hanzl became too expensive for the EC Deilinghofen and the Cologne EC signed him. However, this obligation came to an end after almost six months.
