Jillian Camarena-Williams
Jillian Camarena-Williams ( Jillian Mary "Jill" Camarena-Williams ; born March 2, 1982 in Woodland ) is an American shot putter .
At the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow, she was seventh. The following year she was fourth at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , but was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in Osaka .
A twelfth place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing was followed by another preliminary round at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
In 2010 Camarena-Williams was initially sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and moved up to fourth place after the doping disqualifications of the Belarusians Nadseja Astaptschuk and Natallja Michnewitsch . At the Athletics Continental Cup in Split , she reached fifth place. At the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, she won bronze. In 2012, she came in fourth place at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul and, because of Astaptschuk's subsequent disqualification, on bronze.
From 2005 to 2011 she was US indoor champion seven times in a row. Outdoors she has been twice US champion (2006, 2010) and three times US runner-up (2007, 2009, 2011).
In July 2013, she was found guilty of a doping training test and suspended for six months.
Jillian Camarena-Williams is 1.78 m tall and weighs 113 kg. She is trained by Craig Carter and starts for the New York Athletic Club. Until 2004 she studied at Stanford University . She paused further studies at Brigham Young University in 2006 to become a professional athlete. On September 5, 2009, she married Dustin Williams.
