Jim Brickman (born November 20, 1961 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American pianist and songwriter.

biography

Jim Brickman enjoyed a classical music education, but turned to popular music early on. In the first few years he wrote music for advertising for large companies such as Kellogg’s and Isuzu . On the other hand, he worked with Jim Henson and made music for the Muppets Show and Sesame Street .

He did not release his first own album of soft pop music for piano until 1994. It was a respectable success in the New Age album charts. Just one year later, his second album, By Heart: Piano Solos , made it onto the Billboard 200 . In two years it sold over half a million times and was awarded gold .

By the end of 2017, he had released more than 40 albums including compilations, 21 of which reached number 1 in the New Age charts and almost all of which were also in the official charts by 2013. Three more gold albums were among them.
