Jimmy Rosenberg ( Joseph Rosenberg , born April 10, 1980 in Helmond ) is a Dutch jazz guitarist.

Rosenberg, who comes from a Sinti family, is the cousin of Mozes , Nonnie , Nous'che and Stochelo Rosenberg . In early childhood he played the violin before switching to the guitar at the age of seven. In 1989 he appeared in John Jeremy's documentary Django's Legacy with the trio Gypsy Kids .

In 1991 he appeared at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine and played a duo with Stéphane Grappelli at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw . The following year he recorded the Safari CD with the Gipsy Kids . Appearances with Biréli Lagrène , Stochelo Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre , Philip Catherine and others followed. The album Swinging with Jimmy (2003) with the Hot Club de Norvège was named "Work of the Year" by the Norwegian composers' association NOPA.

In 1996 he founded the trio Gipsy with Johnny and Rinus Steinbach , with whom he toured the USA in the same year and recorded the album of the same name. In Norway, the group recorded the album Hot Shots with Babik Reinhardt .

After touring Norway and Sweden, Rosenberg performed in New York's Carnegie Hall in 1998 with Les Paul , George Benson and Frank Vignola . In 2000 he made a second appearance in Carnegie Hall, and he also played alongside Babik Reinhardt and Biréli Lagrène in the Birdland jazz club .

After 2000, Rosenberg worked primarily in Norway, where he released several albums on the Hot Club Records label. In 2006, Jeroen Berkvens ' documentary Jimmy Rosenberg, De vader, de Zoon & het Talent was released , which received several awards at the Kraków Film Festival the following year.
