João Carlos , full name João Carlos dos Santos (born September 10, 1972 in Sete Lagoas , Minas Gerais ), is a former Brazilian football player and coach . In his career he won various national and international championships.
He was mainly active for clubs from Brazil, only in 2002 he went to Japan for one season . At the 1997 World Cup final he lost with the Crueiro EC from Belo Horizonte against Borussia Dortmund . In the follow-up competition, the FIFA Club World Cup, he was able to win with Corinthians in 2000. With the national team he was successful in 1999 at the Copa America.
João Carlos has been a trainer since 2008. Most recently, he worked in Série D at Villa Nova AC in 2016 .
