João Filipe Martins Vieira (born July 27, 1989 in Madeira ) is a professional Portuguese poker player and former basketball player .

Personal

Vieira became the youngest professional basketball player in Portugal at the age of 15 and then played for seven years with CAB Madeira in the Portuguese first division. He lives in Funchal .

Poker career

Vieira plays online under the nickname Naza114 . He won two titles at the World Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars in September 2019 . Vieira has been sponsored by the Winamax online poker room since February 2018 . Since 2008 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

Vieira made it into the money at both the Main Event and the High Roller of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona in August 2012 and received prize money of almost 50,000 euros . In mid-January 2014, he finished eighth in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures High Roller in the Bahamas, endowed with just under 160,000 US dollars . In December 2014, Vieira finished seventh at the EPT High Roller in Prague and secured more than 100,000 euros in prize money. In June 2016 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and made it into the money nine times in the tournament series. At the beginning of May 2018, Vieira finished fifth at the EPT High Roller in Monte-Carlo for 208,700 euros. In November 2018 he reached the final table at the Millions World of the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party in the Bahamas and finished the tournament in ninth place, paid for $ 250,000. In the WSOP 2019 Vieira won an event the variant No-Limit Hold'em and secured a prize money of nearly 760,000 US dollars and a bracelet . In mid-January 2020, he won the high roller at partypoker Millions UK in Nottingham and received $ 250,000.

In total, Vieira has earned more than $ 3.5 million in live poker tournaments, making it the most successful Portuguese poker player .
