Joachim Grünewald
Joachim Grünewald (born November 21, 1933 in Kirchhundem ; † January 5, 2012 in Olpe ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1991 to 1994 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Finance .
education and profession
Grünewald, who came from the family who owned the Hofolper paper mill Gebr.Grünewald, studied law and political science in Bonn and Cologne after graduating from high school in 1954 . In Bonn he became a member of the Catholic student union KDStV Bavaria Bonn in the CV . In 1957 he passed his first state examination in law . In 1960 he was at the University of Bonn with the work The ownership and property rights in the Soviet-occupied zone of Germany for Dr. iur. PhD . After his second state examination in law in 1962, he was a research assistant at the University of Bonn.
On April 1, 1964, he became a district assessor for the district of Olpe , and in 1965 he was appointed district councilor. Elected on November 2, 1967 by the district council, Grünewald was from March 1, 1968 - after re-election in the meantime - until January 28, 1987, then senior district director of the Olpe district. During his term of office, the implementation of the local government reform fell under his leadership. In doing so, he successfully counteracted the plans to dissolve the district of Olpe and integrate the communities into other districts.

After the death of his first wife, Joachim Grünewald was married for the second time and the father of four children. Since he started working for the Olpe district, the district town was his residence.
Political party
Since 1959 he was a member of the CDU. Since 1968 he was a member of the board of the CDU district association in Olpe and from 1989 he was federal treasurer of the local political association of the CDU / CSU .

Grünewald was a member of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Assembly from 1969 to 1987 and was here from 1975 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group .
From 1987 to 1994 Grünewald was a member of the German Bundestag . He always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Olpe - Siegen-Wittgenstein II . Here he was particularly active in the finance department.
Public offices
After the general election in 1990 Grünewald was on 24 January 1991 as Parliamentary Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance in by Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed.
