Joachim Hagel

Joachim Hagel OPraem (born July 27, 1961 in Münster in Westphalia ) is a German religious and theologian .

Life

Joachim Hagel studied Catholic theology and economics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 1982 to 1989 . In 1992 he was in Münster at Wim Kosters and Franz Furger with the business ethics work for Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In 1997 he completed his habilitation with Werner Wolbert at the University of Salzburg .

On August 30, 1987, Joachim Hagel entered the Premonstratensian Canons Abbey in the Alt- Hamborn district of Duisburg . After a novitiate in Schlägl Abbey in Upper Austria , he was ordained deacon on October 27, 1989 at Hamborn Abbey. On August 30, 1991, Hagel made his solemn profession in the abbey church in Hamborn. He was ordained a priest on May 28, 1992 . He was a cooperator in St. Joseph in Hamborn (1992–1994), subsidiary in the Bavarian parish Teisendorf (1994–1996) and chaplain in St. Joseph in Hamborn (1996–1997). He was the parish administrator and head of the Bavarian parishes of Langengeisling and Eitting (1997–2003). In addition to teaching at various schools, he was pastor to the school sisters of Hallein near Salzburg (2002–2003) and in 2004 parish administrator of the parishes of Bendorf-Sayn and Bendorf-Mülhofen / Diocese of Trier. He was the provisional parish priest of the Elixhausen parish in the Archdiocese of Salzburg (2006–2009; 2011–2015) and parish administrator of the Waakirchen-Schaftlach parish association in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising .

Hagel has been a judge and defender of marriage bonds at the Metropolitan and Diocesan Court of Salzburg since 2006 . Since 2007 he has been the liaison pastor of the K.Ö.HV Rheno-Juvavia zu Salzburg in the Austrian Cartel Association (ÖCV) .

Since September 1st, 2015 he has been parish provisional member of the parish church Strobl in Strobl am Wolfgangsee.

Scientific work

Hagel had lectureships for Christian social science at the Theological Faculty Fulda (1997–2003), for business ethics and for economics at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg (2005–2008), substitute professorship (2005–2007) and visiting professorship (2006–2007) for Christian social science at the Catholic-theological faculty of the University of Erfurt and for Christian social ethics at the Philosophical-Theological University Benediktbeuern (2007–2009). He was a lecturer at the Institute for Church, Management and Spirituality (IKMS) at the Philosophical-Theological University of Münster (2007–2012). In 1998 he received the Venia Docendi for the academic subject moral theology at the University of Salzburg .

In 2009 he was appointed Professor of Catholic Moral Theology and Christian Social Ethics at the PTH Benediktbeuern . In addition, since 2012 he has been teaching moral theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Augsburg . In the 2015 winter semester he was offered a professorship in moral theology at the University of Salzburg.

Hagel's main teaching and research areas are basic questions of philosophical and theological ethics, theories of justice, the tradition of Catholic moral theology and Catholic social teaching, as well as economic and business ethics.
