Joachim Hiehle

Joachim Hiehle (born December 21, 1926 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and former State Secretary . D.

Life

Hiehle was born in Berlin-Schöneberg in 1926 as the son of a ministerial official who was then working in the Reich Ministry of Finance . At the beginning of 1943 he was drafted first for military service as an air force helper and later for the Reich Labor Service , and in July 1943 he joined the Navy as an officer candidate . He ran as a Midshipman on destroyers and minesweepers of the Navy and became 1945 in Denmark in captivity . After the end of the war, he worked for the German mine clearance service for two years .

In 1947 he was released from captivity and returned to Berlin where he graduated from high school in 1948 . From the winter semester 1948/49 he studied law and political science in Berlin , Frankfurt and Bonn . After the 1st state examination (grade fully satisfactory ) in 1953, the traineeship at the Cologne Higher Regional Court and the 2nd state examination at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court followed . In 1956 he was promoted to Dr. jur. doctorate and from 1957 worked as an assessor in the Federal Customs Administration in Constance. In 1958 he became assistant for the federal budget in the Federal Ministry of Finance . In 1963 he became head of department, 1964 chief government director and 1968 ministerial advisor . Under Federal Finance Minister Franz Josef Strauss he became general adviser and in 1971 rose to head of department. In 1974 he finally became a permanent state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance and thus a political official . Under Federal Defense Minister Hans Apel , after his move to Federal Minister of Defense, he became State Secretary of the Federal Minister of Defense under the influence of Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt in 1978 . He stayed that way even after the change of government in 1982 under Minister Manfred Wörner . In the course of the Kießling affair , he only reported sick in mid-January 1984 and never returned to his place of work. He was retired on April 1, 1984 . Then he worked in industry.

In the German Navy he holds the rank of Corvette Captain of the Reserve.

He is married and has two children.
