Joachim Hoene
Joachim Hoene (born 1919 in Berlin ) is a German television , radio and theater director .
Life
At first he worked as a businessman before meeting Gustav Knuth shortly after the Second World War in Hamburg , who gave the theater fan Hoene his first engagement with Willy Maertens at the Hamburg Thalia Theater . In the early 1950s, Gustav Burmester brought him to what was then Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk , where Hoene worked as a unit manager and assistant director in the radio play department. Later he went to the German department of the BBC London. There he worked for years as an author, speaker, director and translator. In addition to this activity, he directed television. John Olden , employed as a director and production manager at NWDR Hamburg, was his teacher and gave him his first television direction in 1959. With the six-part The Other with Albert Lieven , he opened the successful television series based on the scripts by Francis Durbridge . In 1960 he directed the spy crime thriller Terror in Waage with Hans Reiser for the SWF. As Bild + Funk reported in 1960, Hoene had a particular preference for English fabrics. In addition to his television and radio work, he always remained loyal to the theater, so he staged the German premiere of the American play The Third in Ulm in 1960 .
