Joachim Lothar Gartner (born April 16, 1945 in Steinschönau , Tetschen-Bodenbach district ) is an Austrian artist.

Life

In May 1945 Joachim Lothar Gartner had to leave his home with his mother and twin brother Hansjürgen and in 1949 they came to Vienna , Austria . The twin brothers studied textile design in Vienna and graduated in 1963 with a diploma. After completing their studies, they went to Augsburg, where they moved into their studio in the Holbein House in 1969.

In 1971 Joachim Lothar and Hansjürgen Gartner had their first individual presentation at the "Art Zone Munich" with works that were close to Fantastic Realism. During this time Joachim Lothar Gartner began studying art education in Augsburg and Munich , graduating in 1974. The first encounter with Christian Schad in the studio in Keilberg (Germany) in 1979 led to the objectification of the realistic representation in his art.

In 1986 the twin brothers were commissioned to furnish two ballet performances ("Gesche Gottfried" and "Erlkönig") at the Augsburg Municipal Theaters.

In 1989 Joachim Lothar Gartner got a teaching position for art and design at the higher federal college for the textile industry in Vienna. Since then he has lived and worked in Vienna.

Joachim Lothar Gartner works in various artistic formats, in particular painting, graphics, sculpture and design.
