Joachim "Buzzi" Reil (born May 17, 1955 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German ice hockey player . He was a defender in the national ice hockey league and in the German national ice hockey team .

career

Reil began his professional career in 1974 with his home club, SC Riessersee , in the ice hockey Bundesliga. With the team he was season 1977/78 and in the 1980/81 season each German Hockey Champion . Reil developed into one of the team's top performers and was one of the guarantors for the two championships with Ignaz Berndaner . His achievements also earned him a call to the national team. He had his best season in 1979/80 when he was able to achieve 32 points scorer . Before the 1983/84 season , he moved to the ECD Iserlohn to leave this team after two years in the direction of Mannheim . With the Mannheim ERC he was German ice hockey runner-up in the 1986/87 season . From the 1987/88 season Reil played for SB Rosenheim and won the German ice hockey championship again with this team the following year. He remained loyal to the team from Rosenheim until 1996 and ended his career at the age of 41.

Reil played at the Olympic Winter Games in 1980 , 1984 and 1988 , as well as at the Ice Hockey World Championships in 1981 , 1982 and 1987 for the German national ice hockey team.
