Joaquín Anselmo María Cardinal Albareda y Ramoneda OSB (born February 16, 1892 in Barcelona , Spain , † July 19, 1966 there ) was a Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Joaquín Anselmo María Albareda entered the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat in 1904 , where he made simple profession in 1908. He studied Catholic theology , philosophy and Library and Documentation Sciences in Rome and Freiburg and received on 7 July 1915, the sacrament of Holy Orders . From 1915 to 1923 he worked in the Montserrat Monastery, after two years of further studies he took on the role of archivist there from 1923 to 1936 .

In 1936 he was appointed Prefect of the Vatican Library . In 1950 he was appointed titular abbot of Santa Maria de Ripoll . In 1962 Pope John XXIII took him . as a cardinal deacon with the title deaconry Sant'Apollinare all Terme Neroniane-Alessandrine in the college of cardinals and consecrated him titular archbishop of Gypsaria ; Co-consecrators were the cardinals Giuseppe Pizzardo and Benedetto Aloisi Masella . From 1962 to 1965 Joaquín Anselmo María Albareda y Ramoneda took part in the Second Vatican Council . He died on July 19, 1966 in Barcelona and was buried in the crypt of the Benedictine Abbey of Montserrat.
