The Jockgrimer Tongruben nature reserve is located in the Germersheim district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 51 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends southwest of the local community Jockgrim . The Schmerbach flows through it. The state road 540 and the B 9 run not far to the east, and the A 65 runs to the west .

The purpose of the protection is to preserve the communities and habitats of the sometimes rare, threatened wild plants and animals in the former clay pits and the adjacent areas. These are mainly open water areas, shallow water and riparian zones, sandy areas, old wood islands and boggy meadows. The protection is also provided for scientific reasons.
