IC 4088 is an active spiral galaxy with a high rate of star formation of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 318 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter. Together with PGC 94015 it forms the optical (?) Galaxy pair Holm 500 and is considered a member of the Coma galaxy cluster Abell 1656 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4922 , IC 842 , IC 843 , IC 4032 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on May 13, 1895 .
