Bridgehead (nature reserve)

The Brückenkopf nature reserve is located in the city of Germersheim in the district of Germersheim in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 32 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1982 , extends east of the core city of Germersheim directly on the state road 555 on the western and northern edge and the state border with Baden-Württemberg . The B 35 runs not far to the north and the Rhine flows to the west .
The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland as a habitat for rare animal species and as a location for rare plant species and plant communities and for scientific reasons.
