Giuseppe Busillo (born May 13, 1970 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who played in the German Ice Hockey League from 1987 to 2006 for the Kölner Haie , Eisbären Berlin and SERC Wild Wings, among others .
Career
Giuseppe Busillo began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he played for the Oshawa Generals and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was active. While he won the Memorial Cup , the championship of the Canadian Hockey League , with Oshawa in 1990 , he won with Saut Ste a year later. Marie in the playoff final for the J. Ross Robertson Cup , the OHL championship title. Following his junior career, the attacker moved to Italy in 1991, where he competed for HC Alleghe in both Serie A and the Alpine League over the next four years .
After a year with Alleghe's league rivals AS Varese Hockey , Busillo moved to the German Ice Hockey League in 1996 , where he was on the ice for the Kölner Haie , Eisbären Berlin and SERC Wild Wings for the next five years . For the 2001/02 season, the Italian international signed with Manchester Storm from the British Ice Hockey Superleague . From 2002 until the end of his career in 2006, the left shooter played again in Italy, where he won the championship with HC Milano Vipers in all four years . From 2004 to 2006 he was the team captain of the Milanese. He was also successful with the Lombards in 2004 and 2005 in the national cup competition, the Coppa Italia .
International
For Italy , Busillo took part in the B World Championships in 2004 and 2005 , as well as the A World Championships in 1995 , 1997 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 and 2006 . Furthermore, he was in Italy's squad at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
