Joely Fisher (born October 29, 1967 in Burbank , California ) is an American actress .

life and career

Joely Fisher is the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and fellow actress Connie Stevens ; Carrie Fisher was her half-sister. Fisher grew up with her mother after her parents divorced. At the age of seven she was already playing in a theater in Las Vegas . At times she studied at a university in Paris and at Emerson College .

Fisher played her first film role alongside Patricia Arquette in the comedy The Bikini Trap (1987), in which her sister Tricia Leigh Fisher played one of the leading roles. In the comedy, is this going to hollywood? (1994) she appeared on the side of Nick Nolte , in the comedy The Mask (1994) she was seen alongside Jim Carrey . In the comedy Lifesavers - Die Lebensretter (1994) she played the role of Susan , the friend of Philip ( Steve Martin ). From 1994 to 1998 she starred alongside Ellen DeGeneres in the television series Ellen . For this role she was nominated for the 1998 Golden Globe . In 2005 she appeared in the television series Desperate Housewives . From 2006 to 2010 she starred in the television series Marriage Is ... a Leading Role.

Fisher has been married to cameraman Christopher Duddy since 1996 and has three daughters.
