Joffrey Lauvergne (born September 30, 1991 in Mulhouse , France ) is a French basketball player who is currently under contract with Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania .

Career

Europe

Lauvergne played for Élan Sportif Chalonnais in the French first division LNB Pro A between 2009 and 2012 . With Chalon, Lauvergne became French champions in the 2011/12 season and French cup winners in 2011 and 2012 .

In November 2012, after his team left the ULEB Euroleague , Lauvergne left Chalon and moved to Valencia BC for a month . In five games in the Spanish ACB league , he averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. In December Lauvergne signed a contract until June 2015 with the Serbian first division club KK Partizan Belgrade .

In 2013 and 2014 Lauvergne became Serbian champions with Partizan Belgrade. In 2013, the Adriatic Basketball League was also won.

On June 23, 2014 Lauvergne signed a two-year contract with the Russian club BK Chimki . He was dissatisfied with his playing times there and left the club in February 2015.

NBA

In the NBA Draft 2013 Lauvergne was recruited in the second round in 25th place (total: 55th) by the Memphis Grizzlies and shortly thereafter transferred to the Denver Nuggets .

On February 19, 2015, Lauvergne signed his first NBA contract with the Denver Nuggets and made his debut on February 22nd playing against Oklahoma City Thunder . With 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per encounter, he recorded the best statistical values ​​of his NBA time in the 2015/16 season. For the 2016/17 season, Lauvergne moved to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In July 2017, he signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs .

Return to Europe

During the summer break of 2018, the Frenchman decided to turn his back on the NBA and accepted an offer from the top Turkish club Fenerbahçe Istanbul . With Fenerbahçe he won the Turkish Cup competition twice. In summer 2020 he moved to Žalgiris Kaunas .

National team

In June 2013 Lauvergne was appointed to the French national team for the first time . The team then won the 2013 European Basketball Championship . In 2014 Lauvergne won the bronze medal with the national team at the World Cup.
