Johann Anton von Dessaunieres

Johann Anton von Dessaunieres (born August 3, 1731 in Alsace ; † July 8, 1802 in Glogau ) was a Prussian major general and most recently in command of Glogau.

Life

Military career

Dessaunieres went into French service in 1745 and changed to Dutch service in 1749 . There he became a lieutenant in 1754 . On January 6, 1761, he came into Prussian service, where he was staff captain in the free battalion "Jenney". He took part in the Seven Years War . After the war, on October 7, 1764, he became captain and company commander in Garrison Regiment No. 11 . There he became major on November 8, 1769 . On May 7, 1787 he was appointed chief of Fusilier Battalion No. 11, which was formed from four companies of Garrison Regiment No. 11 and which bore his name. At the parade on June 8, 1789, he received the order Pour le Mérite . He became a colonel on August 16, 1790 and major general on January 3, 1795. On March 21, 1795 he was transferred to the Glogau Fortress as commander , with a salary of 1200 thalers. He died on June 8, 1802 in Glogau and was buried there on July 11, 1802.

During his time in Glogau, the Countess von Lichtenau was exiled .

family

He married Jeannette Claire du Fresne de Francheville (1742-1830) in 1760. The couple had several children including:

After the general's death, his widow received a pension of 300 thalers.
