Johann Bodo Lampe (also: Johan Bodo Lampe ; baptized February 14, 1738 in Hanover ; † May 8, 1802 ibid) was a German doctor and personal surgeon .

Life

Johann Bodo Lampe chose the profession of surgeon while serving in the Hanover military. He was already working as court and regimental surgeon for the Hanoverian Life Guard when he married Elisabeth Ziesenis , daughter of the painter Johann Georg Ziesenis the Younger, on September 24, 1776 . Soon afterwards he appears to have been appointed personal surgeon. As such, he set up the first garrison hospital in Hanover in 1790.

In addition, due to the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover, both the Royal British and Electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg body surgeon acted as director of the sulfur bath in Limmer, the Limmer Fountain .

The only child of the Lampe / Ziesenis couple was born on July 24th, 1786 in Hanover: Francisca Heinriette Juliana Elisabeth was baptized on August 2nd of that year in the castle church . Among the four godparents was a sister of the child's mother, Franzisca, nine years younger, married Obermüller. The further whereabouts of the body surgeon's daughter seem unclear.

In 1788, Lampe was the host of Georg Forster . Lampe was a Freemason and at that time sat as a master of the chair of the Johannis Masonic Lodge Zum Schwarzen Bär in the Orient of Hanover.

After the death of his first wife, whose cause of death according to the register of the castle church was "protracted breast damage", Lampe married the virgin Margarethe Theodore Rechtern, a daughter of the former in Hameln, on February 19, 1800 in the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche St. Johannis active, but already deceased city mayor rights. Just two years later, Lampe died of mucous fever at the age of 65. The whereabouts of his widow is unclear.
