Johann Caspar II. Count Cobenzl
Johann Caspar II. Count von Cobenzl (also Johann Kaspar; born May 30, 1664 ; † April 30, 1742 in Vienna ), Baron zu Prossegg (Prosecco, Trieste), Lueg (today Predjama Castle ), Leittenburg and Mossau ( Mossa ), Court marshal and holder of several court offices in Krain , the Windischen Mark and Görz , governor in Görz and then in Krain.
Life
Johann Kaspar was the second-born son of Johann Philipp II. Imperial Count of Cobenzl zu Prossegg, Lueg etc. (1635–1712) and Johanna (Zanina) von Lanthieri (around 1640–1678), the daughter of Franz Graf von Lanthieri zu Wippach and Cassandra Countess of Discounta. Johann Philipp was the highest hereditary ruler in Görz, kaiserl. go. Councilor and treasurer, captain of Trieste and governor of Gorizia. Johann Kaspar became emperor in 1691. Reichshofrat and soon afterwards Imperial Chamberlain. In 1704 he became governor in Görz, imperial councilor and in early 1715 governor in Carniola. In 1722 he became Emperor Karl VI. Supreme Court Marshal , Imperial Supreme Chamberlain in 1726 and Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1731 . After the princes Eggenberg died out in 1719, Emperor Karl VI granted him. the inheritance gift office in Carniola, after having received the office of heir falcon master in Gorizia a few years earlier.
At the coronation of Joseph I on January 26, 1690 as Roman king in Augsburg, Johann Caspar Cobenzl , Roman emperor. Chamberlain, (and another 21 nobles, mostly with court offices) ceremonially knighted after the mass.
Johann Kaspar II. Had been Countess von Bucelleni († October 2, 1706), daughter of Julius Friedrich Count von Bucelleni zu Sava, Imperial Councilor and Obersthofkanzler, and Anna Margaretha Freiin von Stozzing, in his first marriage from 1696 to Juliana Perpetua . On June 15, 1708, he married Carolina Sophia Countess von Rindsmaul (* May 26, 1682, † December 4, 1756), Star Cross Order Lady, the daughter of Wolfgang Albrecht Graf von Rindsmaul and Maria Katharina Freiin von Neudegg. The first marriage had nine children, the second marriage eight. The sons from their second marriage, Johann Karl Philipp Graf Cobenzl and Guidobald, founded two lines from which famous statesmen and politicians emerged.
