After a few years he returned to Germany and mastered the making of sculptures in Kelheimer Stein . From 1825 he turned exclusively and successfully to the art of medalists, so that in 1831 he was appointed imperial court medalist and then teacher and director of the imperial-royal coin engraving academy.
