Johann Friedrich Hertel , pseudonym Albanus de Spineto , (* December 16, 1667 in Jena ; † January 12, 1743 ibid) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Johann Friedrich was born the twin of the merchant and councilor Andreas Jacob Hertel and his wife Anna Elisabeth Titiam (Tietz). After attending the school in Jena, he completed further training on July 14, 1685 at the grammar school in Zittau , which was under the direction of Rector Christian Weise . On June 30, 1688 he moved to the University of Jena to study law. He completed his initial philosophical studies with Georg Albrecht Hamberger , Georg Schubart , Johann Andreas Schmidt , Johann Adrian Slevogt , Caspar Sagittarius and Friedemann Bechmann . He attended legal lectures with Johann Christian Schröter , Peter Müller , Wilhelm Hieronymus Brückner , Christian Wildvogel , Johann Philipp Slevogt , Johann Bernhard Friese and above all with Nikolaus Christoph Lyncker .

In 1701 he received his doctorate in law, and in 1703 he became court counselor and government advocate of Saxony-Weimar. In 1706 he received a position as a lawyer at the Jena court. In 1727 he became associate professor of law and in 1732 full professor of the same. Associated with the latter task, he became an assessor at the law faculty, assessor at the court and Schöppenstuhl. In 1736 he took over the professorship of the code and the novellas. In addition, he participated in the organizational tasks of the Salana. He was dean of the Faculty of Law a few times and, in the summer semester of 1735, rector of the Alma Mater .

Hertel married on October 6, 1701 in Jena with Anna Regina Vulpius, daughter of the lawyer Johann Heinrich Vulpius.
