Johann Gottfried von Cocceji (* 1673 in Heidelberg ; † December 18, 1738 ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Prussia .

Origin and life

Cocceji's father was Heinrich von Cocceji , professor at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the University of Utrecht and the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt . The mother was his wife Marie Salome Hugwart († 1720).

The Palatine Lieutenant Colonel Friedrich Heinrich von Cocceji (1676–1703), who fell near Roermond , and the Prussian Supreme Court President and Grand Chancellor Samuel von Cocceji (1679–1755) were his brothers.

The branch, which has not been integrated into Dubrauke's family affiliation so far , could possibly be Cocceji's son and grandson.

Cocceji and his brother Samuel disputed publicly in Frankfurt (Oder) in 1699 under his father's presidium. The title of the joint disputation was De Testamentis Principum . Cocceji was a councilor in Magdeburg on December 20, 1702, advanced to the position of secret council in 1718 and finally held the position of district president in Magdeburg from January 6, 1734 .
