Johann Joseph Friedrich Langenhöffel (* 1750 in Düsseldorf , † December 31, 1807 in Vienna ) was a German painter and draftsman , etcher and engraver .

Life

After his training at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Lambert Krahe , Langenhöffel specialized in etching Italian masterpieces. He later worked for Prince William V of Orange in The Hague . From 1782 he was the court painter of the Palatinate-Bavarian court in Mannheim . At least from 1795 to 1799 he worked for the Chalkographische Gesellschaft zu Dessau and was its technical director. Most recently, he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna as its director .
