Johann Peter Paul Beier (born June 15, 1769 in Loslau ; † January 25, 1841 at Gut Lilienthal near Breslau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and most recently inspector of the Remontism .

Life

Beier comes from a simple background. His father was a sergeant in Hussar Regiment No. 6 , his mother was born Guth.

Military career

He was trained in a garrison school. After his school days he went on April 21, 1782 as a hussar in the hussar regiment "von Werner" and came to Beuthen in Upper Silesia in the squadron of Obersten Froreich. He recognized the boy's talent and sent him on to the garrison school, where he was trained as a trumpeter. After completing his training, Beier returned to the squadron as a trumpeter in 1786. Since he also learned a beautiful handwriting, he also became a clerk for the squadron. During the First Coalition War he was promoted to sergeant and sergeant. Since Beier had no money, he could not initially raise the equipment necessary for the rank of officer. This then took over his regiment chief Wolffradt for him.

On January 6, 1796 he rose to the ranks of officers and became a cornet , in 1798 adjutant and on March 29, 1800 he came as a second lieutenant in the "Towarczys" battalion , where he hoped to be able to advance more quickly. On September 5, 1818, he became the commander of the 9th Cavalry Brigade , and on June 28, 1819, he was appointed President of the Examination Commission for Portepeefähnriche of the 9th Division (German Empire) .

On December 18, 1820, he was made available to the War Ministry as an army officer and from February 25, 1822, he was used as the inspector of the Remontism. In this position he was promoted to major general on March 30, 1823 . On January 18, 1825, Beier received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, for his achievements, and the Service Cross on December 2, 1825 at the end of the year . On April 21, 1832, on his 50th anniversary in service, he received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class. On December 11, 1835, he was retired as lieutenant general with a pension of 2235 thalers. Beier was the heir to Lilienthal.

Beier married on September 23, 1825 in Groß-Saalau (East Prussia) Marie Wilhelmine Mathilde von Berge and Herrendorff (* May 23, 1780 in Wopen; † March 5, 1832 in Breslau), widowed von Königsegg . The couple had a daughter (* 1829).
