Johann Raskop

Johann Raskop (born November 13, 1911 in Pankow ; † July 15, 1988 in Berlin ) was a German SED functionary.

Life

Raskop was born the son of a house painter and a factory worker. After attending elementary and middle school , he trained as a hairdresser . He then worked in this profession and as a construction worker and scaffolding worker. In 1927 he became a member of the KJVD and in 1932 of the KPD .

After the “ seizure of power ” in 1933, he participated in the resistance against National Socialism in Berlin. From February to June 1933 he was a “ protective prisoner ” in Berlin-Plötzensee . Afterwards he did illegal work for the KPD in the resistance group Theo Schulz. He was again briefly imprisoned in November 1933. Between 1935 and 1938 he worked as a civil engineering worker in various companies, then as a furniture carrier and scaffold builder. In 1940 he was drafted into the army for military service. Raskop was a medical sergeant in France , Yugoslavia and on the Eastern Front . From 1944 to 1948 he was a Soviet prisoner of war . In Zyurupinsk he attended an anti- fascist school and was then deployed as a propagandist at the front. From 1946 to 1948 he was deputy camp commandant.

After his return to the Soviet Zone in July 1948, he became a member of the SED. From 1948 to 1950 he was a teacher at the SED district party school "August Bebel" in Berlin-Kaulsdorf and from October 1950 to April 1951 - as successor to Friedel Hoffmann - first secretary of the SED district leadership in Berlin-Weißensee . From April 1951 to 1953, Raskop was the personal assistant to the First Secretary of the SED district leadership in Berlin, Hans Jendretzky , then deputy head, later head of the governing bodies department at the SED district leadership in Berlin. In 1954/55 he attended a special course at the party college at the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow . He then became an instructor in the department for governing bodies, parties and mass organizations of the Central Committee of the SED. In 1955/56 he was the first secretary of the SED district leadership in Berlin-Köpenick . From January 1957 he was again an employee of the Central Committee and instructed instructor of the department of governing bodies, parties and mass organizations and in 1958/59 deputy head of the organization department of the Central Committee of the SED. He was then editor of the SED magazine Neuer Weg (1959–1963) and from 1960 to 1963 also deputy head of the party organs department in the SED Central Committee. From 1963 to 1969 he worked as the second secretary of the SED district leadership in Schwerin , from 1964 also as secretary for organizational and management issues. From 1969 to 1971 he served as head of the cadre department of the Committee of the Workers and Peasants Inspection .

Johann Raskops urn was on the Central Cemetery in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde in the graves plant for the victims and persecuted by the Nazi regime buried.
