Johann Wilhelm Austria (born April 26, 1800 in Wolfenbüttel , † December 5, 1880 in Braunschweig ) was a Braunschweig civil servant and politician.

Life

Johann Wilhelm Austria attended high school in Wolfenbüttel and studied law in Göttingen . He then worked as a lawyer in Wolfenbüttel. From 1823 to 1825 he was an actuary at the Wolfenbüttel district court. In 1826 he became procurator at the regional court and in 1827 assistant at the main regional archive in Wolfenbüttel. In 1833 he was elected state syndic by the assembly of estates of the Duchy of Braunschweig . From 1850 to 1866 he was chairman of the city council in Braunschweig.

In 1850 he was a member of the Erfurt Union Parliament . From 1867 to 1871 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency Braunschweig 1 ( Braunschweig , Blankenburg ) and the National Liberal Party . In this capacity he was also a member of the Customs Parliament from 1868 .
