Johannes Angern

Johannes "Hans" Friedrich Gotthilf Angern (born June 13, 1861 in Diesdorf , Altmark , † September 10, 1938 Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Johannes Angern went to the royal school in Pforta . In 1879 he left the state school and switched to the Ostrowo pedagogy .

In 1884 he was the Infantry Regiment von der Goltz in Kolberg to second lieutenant , then in 1893 to Primierleutnant transported and 1895 was to the gun factory Spandau commanded.

On September 10, 1898, Angern was appointed assistant director of the rifle factory in Danzig with the rank of captain and on March 22, 1907 as a major there was appointed director.

In 1916, with the rank of lieutenant colonel , he became director of the ammunition factory in Kassel-Forstfeld , which was founded in the same year and which employed up to 15,000 men and women. During this time he was also a member of Technical Committee 6 (“Metal Extraction and Metal Working”) of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society and a full member of the Natural Research Society in Gdansk .

Second Lieutenant Angern married his fiancée on March 9, 1892 in Berlin , Clara Ida Hedwig Mehls, who was born on December 4, 1869. The later lieutenant general of the Wehrmacht Günther Angern was his son. One daughter was married to Friedrich August von Lindstedt (1886–1956).

Johannes Angern died in Berlin in 1938 at the age of 77. His grave is in the Old St. Matthew Cemetery in Berlin-Schöneberg .
