Johannes Brik

Johannes Brik (born September 8, 1899 in Wolfsberg , † October 27, 1982 in Kremsmünster ) was an Austrian Benedictine .

Life

Johannes Brik, who was born on September 8, 1899 in Wolfsberg, began a two-year preparatory education at a grammar school in Vienna in 1911 and continued it in 1913 for six years at the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster . From 1919 he studied at the Technical University of Vienna , graduated with a degree in engineering and worked for a Viennese company for the next five years as a designer . On 8 November 1930, he was admitted to the Benedictine monastery of Kremsmünster, but the following year he went for a four-year theological study, which lasted until 1935, the University of Salzburg , his ordination was held there on June 14 1935th But then he turned to mathematical and geometric studies at the University of Vienna . This lasted until 1939, after which he was chaplain several times during World War II . In the year after the end of the war he became professor of mathematics and descriptive geometry at the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster. In 1951 Brik was hired as a lecturer for philosophy at the institute for private tutors in Kremsmünster. He died on October 27, 1982 at the age of 83.
