Johannes Matthes

Johannes Matthes (born March 27, 1798 in Nieder-Modau ; † May 17, 1866 ibid) was a German politician and farmer .

Life

Matthes was born as the son of the judge Johann Adam Matthes and his wife Anna Christina Matthes born. Daum was born in Nieder-Modau and his first marriage was Anna Elisabetha Keller, who was a daughter of the mayor Johannes Keller of Ober-Modau and a granddaughter of Anna Elisabeth Boßler .

In 1809, Matthes married Elisabeth Margarethe Bauer, the daughter of the master baker and innkeeper Johannes Bauer from Reinheim .

He was mayor of Nieder-Modau before 1849. Johannes Matthes was also a member of the 12th state parliament of the Grand Duchy of Hesse from 1849 to 1850. There he was an elected member of the first chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse for constituency 16 Groß-Bieberau / Fürth.
