Johannes Reichel (born April 29, 1982 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player who spent most of his career with the EC KAC and played a total of 776 games in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League .

Career

Reichel began his career in the junior teams of the EC KAC and made his debut in the 1999/00 season in the combat team and was able to win his first Austrian championship title with the team in his first season . A success that he was able to repeat in 2001 and 2004. In 2000 he also won the Interliga with the KAC . In 2006 he received an offer from the Swedish second division club Rögle BK and signed for one season, but the EC KAC brought him back for the 2007/08 season to reinforce the defense. In 2009 and 2013 he won his four and five championship titles with the Carinthians. From 2014 he was team captain of the Klagenfurt team. On November 24, 2015, Reichel asked for a contract termination after 802 competitive matches for the KAC and switched to the Slovakian extra league for HK 36 Skalica . From the 2016/17 season, Reichel was under contract with EHC Althofen.

In May 2018 Reichel was introduced as the new sports director of the EC KAC .

International

In the junior division, Reichel played for Austria at the U18 B World Championships in 1999 and 2000 and the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2001 and 2002 .

In the men's selection , he made his debut on April 13, 2002 in the 1: 4 defeat against Germany in Rosenheim . He was on the ice for Austria in the top division at the World Championships in 2004 , 2011 and 2013 . In Division I, he represented the Alpine country's team at the 2006 , 2010 and 2012 tournaments .
