history

In the meantime, further locations follow in Cologne, Telgte, Münster, Bad Oeynhausen, Dortmund, Aachen and Eutin as part of hospital transport and international repatriation services. In 1996 the operation of an intensive care transport helicopter (ITH) began at Reichelsheim airfield , which was only tolerated by the state of Hesse , after which the official commissioning took place. In 2014, the Giessen air rescue center went into operation. In 2017, a total of 2,718 missions were flown. The revenue was 19 million euros. Olicer Meermann has been the CEO of JLR since 2020.

tasks

Ambulance aircraft are also operated for international repatriation and repatriation by medical assistance in commercial aircraft is offered. The Johanniter operate the Johanniter alarm center for secondary and intensive care transports (JASI) in Mainz, which can be used to coordinate operations. machinery

The D-HFHE with retracted landing gear.

The Eurocopter Dauphin used differ from the H145 , which is typically used in intensive care transport in Germany, in that it has a larger cabin, the transversely installed stretcher and a speed that is around 60 km / h higher. The Dauphin can also retract its landing gear and the machine has a characteristic sound.

An EC 155 has also been in the JLR pool since 2019 . It offers even more space in addition to a larger cabin and has a more powerful engine. This means that overweight patients (up to 400 kg) can also be transported.

The machines at the JLR locations are provided by HeliFlight GmbH & Co. KG and Rotorflug Airservices GmbH & Co. KGaA. There are currently nine helicopters and three ambulance planes (Piper PA 42 Cheyenne, Cessna 414, Learjet 35 A) in the JLR pool.

Night Vision goggles enable primary and secondary use at the Rostock, Gießen and Bochum locations.

Since 2004 the machines have been painted in white and red with an EKG line. The changed corporate design has also been gray since 2014.
