John Robert "Bob" Braithwaite , MBE (born September 28, 1925 in Arnside , † February 26, 2015 in Capernwray ) was a British marksman .

successes

John Braithwaite took the trap at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and 1968 in Mexico City in part. In 1964 he finished seventh with 192 points and missed the medal ranks by two hits. Four years later he scored 198 points, taking first place ahead of Thomas Garrigus and Kurt Czekalla and thus becoming Olympic champion . His 198 points were also a new world record in this discipline.

Braithwaite was a veterinarian and a member of the British Empire . He had a daughter.
