John Doaninoel SM (born March 1, 1950 in Timputz , Papua New Guinea, † August 7, 2018 in Honiara ) was auxiliary bishop in Honiara , Solomon Islands.

Life

John Doaninoel joined the religious community of the Marist Fathers , made his profession on February 2, 1974, and was ordained a priest on December 20, 1980 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 6, 2007 auxiliary bishop in Rabaul and titular bishop of Girus Tarasii . The Archbishop of Rabaul, Karl Hesse MSC , donated him the episcopal ordination on March 8 of the next year; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Francisco Montecillo Padilla , Apostolic Nuncio in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands , and Henk Kronenberg SM, Bishop of Bougainville .

On June 9, 2011, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Honiara. On August 7, 2018, he died there from a long history of cancer.
