John Ekiru Kelai (born December 29, 1976 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

In 2003 he won the Singapore Marathon , and in 2004 he won the premiere of the Brussels Marathon in 2:10:59 h and was fourth in Singapore.

In 2005 he won the Maastrichts Mooiste and Enschede marathon races and was fourth in the Eindhoven marathons and fifth in Singapore. The following year he finished second in the Enschede Marathon and seventh in the Route du Vin . In 2007 he won the Mumbai Marathon , finished fourth in the Ottawa Marathon , and won the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2:09:30 hours. In 2008 he defended his title in Mumbai and finished fifth in Toronto.

In 2009 he finished third in Mumbai and fourth in the Ruhr Marathon and in Singapore. In 2010 another victory in Enschede was followed by winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi .

In 2013 he finished fourth in the Casablanca Marathon .
