career
In the club
As a youth, Strifler first played for FC-Astoria Walldorf before moving to Karlsruher SC and then to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . Here he also belonged to the senior squad, but was not used there. After graduating from the Johann-Philipp-Bronner-Schule Wiesloch , his contract there was terminated in the summer of 2009, so that on the last day of the transfer period he was able to move to the 3rd division at Dynamo Dresden . There he immediately secured a regular place and made his professional league debut just two days after his commitment, on September 2, 2009, when he played through in a goalless home draw on matchday 7 of the 2009/10 season against VfL Osnabrück . For the 2011/12 season, TSV Alemannia Aachen hired him after he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Dresden .
In the summer of 2012, Strifler moved to third division club Wacker Burghausen . There he signed a one-year contract which was dated June 30, 2013. On January 25, 2013 Strifler moved to league rival Arminia Bielefeld . The club had passed the relicensing procedure on the same day, which is why Strifler was only allowed to be signed, so that many fans only found out about the conclusion of the contract with him through the team line-up. Strifler won the Westphalia Cup in 2013 with Arminia and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.
In January 2016, Strifler moved to SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Regionalliga Südwest . “With Jonas we have brought in a player who can be used very flexibly in midfield as eighth and sixth. We hired him for these positions because he has a very good ball conquering mentality. Jonas can also play in both full-back positions and thus offers us more flexibility, ”said head coach Kenan Kocak . In January 2017 Strifler returned to East Westphalia and moved to SC Verl . In the summer of 2017, Strifler moved again, this time to the Oberliga Westfalen for the second team of FC Schalke 04 .
In the summer of 2018, Strifler announced the end of his career.
In the national team
Strifler played for all German junior national teams from the U-17 to the U-20 . With the U-17 national team, he took part in the 2007 World Cup, in which Germany took third place.
