Jonathan Romar Levy (born November 15, 1982 in Los Angeles , California ) is a former American basketball player who played in the Austrian and German national basketball leagues from 2004 to 2010 . After a season in the ProA 2010/11 with the later promoted "s.Oliver Baskets" from Würzburg , Levy moved to Hungary , where he played until 2014.

Career

After his time at the US College California State University, San Bernardino for the college team Coyotes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association of the NCAA Division II, Levy moved to Austria in 2004 to the first division club BSC Raiffeisen Panthers Fürstenfeld , his first club in Europe. With around 20 points on average, Levy immediately became a top performer in Fürstenfeld, the club management offered him a new contract for another two years during the current season, which the Shooting Guard refused.

In the summer of 2005 Levy moved to the then German second division team ratiopharm from Ulm , with whom he rose to the basketball Bundesliga (BBL) in 2006. In the 2006/07 BBL season Levy was able to secure relegation early on with the promoted team and then switched to league rivals New York Phantoms from Braunschweig , where he scored an average of 10 points per game as a " starter " in two seasons . After the Braunschweiger had not qualified for the play-offs again , he did not get a new contract and moved back to Austria in 2009 to the Gunners from Oberwart , who could not improve in the 2009/10 ÖBL season compared to the previous year. He then moved again to the second German league, which was now organized as ProA . Here he was able to achieve second place and promotion to the first division with the s.Oliver Baskets in the ProA 2010/11 behind the dominant Bayern Munich .

After a coach change Levy did not get a new contract with the promoted team in Würzburg and continued his career in 2011 in Hungary with the first division promoted SZTE from Szeged . After one season he moved to the established league competitor and former champion Falco KC from Szombathely , who ended his contract early in the 2012/13 season, whereupon Levy joined Atomerőmű SE from Paks at the beginning of 2013 . There he replaced the injured Nick Williams, who was active at the beginning of the 2011/12 BBL season for German first division club Phantoms Braunschweig.
