Joni Jouhkimainen (born May 19, 1991 ) is a professional Finnish poker player .

Poker career

Jouhkimainen first encountered poker at the age of 15 while watching the television broadcast of the World Poker Tour, and then played more often with friends. His first live experience was shortly after his 18th birthday in a casino in his hometown of Helsinki . Jouhkimainen has been playing online since August 2009 under the nicknames bustoville ( PokerStars ) , gusterous ( Full Tilt Poker ) , LavisDanzos (PokerStars.FR and Betsafe ) and NastyMake ( 888poker ) . On PokerStars , he won a title at the Spring Championship of Online Poker in 2016 and a World Championship of Online Poker tournament in 2019 . He has been part of the partypoker team since January 2018 , where he appears as Jjouhki . Overall, Jouhkimainen with online tournament poker has more than 2 million US dollars earned. Since 2009 he has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

His first live success was the sixth place at the main event of the Italian Poker Tour in mid-December 2009 in Sanremo , for which he received 21,400 euros . At the beginning of April 2012, Jouhkimainen won the main event of the European Masters of Poker in Lisbon and secured a prize money of more than 55,000 euros. In August 2012 he reached the final table at the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona and finished the tournament in third place, worth over 400,000 euros. At the end of April 2013, Jouhkimainen finished sixth at the EPT High Roller in Berlin for almost 70,000 euros. In June 2013 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came to the final table in a tournament of the Pot Limit Omaha variant . In September 2013, he finished fourth in the EPT Barcelona High Roller , which was paid for at € 148,000. In mid-December 2017, Jouhkimainen finished fourth at the main event of the partypoker Nordic Poker Championships in Prague and received prize money of 70,000 euros. At the end of June 2018, he finished fourth in a DeepStack Championship Poker Series event at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, earning around $ 220,000. At the end of May 2019, Jouhkimainen took third place at the main event of the partypoker Millions North America in Kahnawake, worth more than 470,000 Canadian dollars . At the end of January 2020, he made the money twice at the Australian Poker Open in Gold Coast and secured prize money of around 230,000 Australian dollars .

In total, Jouhkimainen has earned almost 4 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments, making him the third most successful Finnish poker player after Patrik Antonius and Juha Helppi .
