Jonnie Efraimsson (born August 15, 1958 ) is a former Swedish football player . In 1981 the striker came to an international match for the Swedish national team .

Career

Efraimsson played in his youth at IFK Motala and moved up to the men's squad in the late 1970s. Before the beginning of the first division season in 1980 , he moved to Stockholm club Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan . At the side of Sten-Ove Ramberg , Peter Gerhardsson and Kenneth Ohlsson , he quickly developed into a regular on the offensive. With six goals this season, he and Ulf Eriksson were the second-best club-internal scorer behind twelve-time goalscorer Billy Ohlsson in his first year . So he played his way into the national team, at the opening international match in February 1981, he made his debut in the 4-2 win over Norway in the selection jersey.

Also in the following years Efraimsson was largely one of the regular players, but he could not recommend himself again for the national team. In the 1982 season he moved into the final for the Swedish championship with the team. He made a decisive contribution to the final with a total of four goals in the quarter and semi-finals. Also in the first leg at IFK Göteborg he shone in a 2-1 away win alongside Peter Gerhardsson as a goalscorer, but due to a 1: 3 home defeat in the second leg he missed the title win. In the summer of the following year, coach Bengt Persson led the team into another final when they met IFK Göteborg again in the national cup . A goal from Dan Corneliusson in extra time helped the Gothenburg club win this title.

In the meantime, Efraimsson left Hammarby IF in 1984 and moved within Allsvenskan to IFK Norrköping . With the promoted team he reached the championship final at the side of Jan Hellström , Brian McDermott and Peter Lönn , and IFK Gothenburg prevailed again. In the following season, the team could not confirm the success and played against relegation. With five goals this season Efraimsson contributed to relegation as tenth in the table. Nevertheless, he then left the club.

Later Efraimsson worked in the coaching staff of Motala AIF .
