He also competed for the club in the bandy .

Career

18 years in the Jersey of Hammarby IF

"Kenta" Ohlsson made her debut in 1966 in both football and bandy in the first team of Hammarby IF. With the football team, he was the season winner in the second division and contributed in the promotion round with two goals in the 5-0 win over IF Saab to the club's return to the Allsvenskan. As a result, he concentrated on playing football, but he missed the league in Sweden's elite series with the team around Tom Turesson , Lennart Skoglund and Ronnie Hellström despite two goals this season. In the second division he shone as a regular goalscorer and ranked with twelve goals this season behind Rolf Andersson , who had scored 35 goals in his 22 games of the season, as the second best internal goalscorer. Nevertheless, he missed promotion with the club as second behind IK Sirius . In the following season he led the club as the top scorer with ten goals in the promotion games, which after two wins against Sandåkerns SK and Helsingborgs IF - Ohlsson scored one goal each - were already successfully ended early.

At the side of Jan Sjöström , Peter Edlund , Björn Löf and Belgium returnees Tom Turesson, Ohlsson was granted only one goal in the first division season 1970 , but when they were fifth in the table, the team held the class. In the following years, the team slipped into the relegation battle and occupied the last non-relegation place twice in a row. As a regular player, he did not miss a season game in the 1973 and 1974 seasons and helped the team, now being looked after by Olle Nyström , to places in the middle of the table before he was also used regularly under his successor Björn Bolling . The team, which has been supplemented by players such as Mats Werner , Thom Åhlund , Thomas Sjöberg , Michael Andersson and Ohlsson's brother Billy , reached the final of the national cup in 1977 , but had a 0 in the final after a goal by Anders Linderoth Östers IF : 1 defeat.

The following year was both a climax and a disappointment for Ohlsson. In April national coach Georg Ericson appointed him to the national selection. In the 3-1 victory over the German national team , he was in the starting line-up. Then he was part of the provisional squad for the 1978 World Cup , but was ultimately not nominated for the finals. After Bengt Gustavsson had taken over the coaching position before the 1979 season , the club played for the championship. With only three points from the last six games, Ohlsson missed his first title win at the side of Mats Werner, Ulf Eriksson , Thom Åhlund and Mikael Rönnberg and ended the season with the team in sixth place in the table. In the following two years he placed himself with the team only in the middle of the table, so that before the 1982 season a coach change was due again. Under Bengt Persson , the club reached the championship finals as second behind IFK Göteborg , in which they moved into the final after victories over Örgryte IS and IF Elfsborg . Despite a 2-1 away win in the first leg, Ohlsson was again denied a title after a 3-1 second leg defeat against IFK Göteborg, where he had come on as a substitute. In the following season the club moved into the finals as fifth in the table, but failed right at the start against AIK . In the summer Ohlsson had reached the cup final again with the club, but again missed the title against IFK Gothenburg. However, since the Gothenburg club was a double winner , the club was eligible to compete in the 1983/84 European Cup Winners' Cup . In the 4-0 opening win against the Albanian representative KS 17. Nëntori Tirana he distinguished himself as a double scorer, but had to accept the elimination in the second round against Haka Valkeakoski .

At the end of 1983 Ohlsson ended his active career after 18 years at Hammarby IF. For the Stockholm club he had played 333 top division games and scored 58 goals. In addition, he was used in eight games for the championship finals, in which he remained without a goal.

Initially a junior coach at Hammarby IF, he took over the coaching position at the third division Spånga IS in 1985 . After four years of activity, Ohlsson returned to Hammarby IF as a coach in 1989 and inherited Hans Backe , under whose leadership the club had been relegated from Allsvenskan the previous year. Under his responsibility, the team around Sten-Ove Ramberg , Peter Hautalahti , Michael Andersson and Thomas Lundin rose again directly due to the more goals scored against their competitor Vasalunds IF with the same point and goal difference . After the direct relegation he only missed the renewed promotion to the top division in the fall series 1991. In the 1992 season only runner-up behind Degerfors IF , the club replaced him with Tommy Davidsson .

From 1993 Ohlsson was youth coach at IF Brommapojkarna , before he went to fifth division Reymersholms IK in 1995 . In 1998 he took over Assyriska Föreningen for one season . With the lower-class Hanvikens SK , which he coached between 1999 and 2002, he rose to the fifth division. Since 2001 he has been involved again at Hammarby IF and is responsible for the junior academy.
