Jordana Beatty (born January 30, 1998 in Sydney ) is an Australian actress who is best known for her main and title role in Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer .

Life

Jordana Beatty was born in 1998 to Alexandra, a former child actress who now works as a lawyer for Honda , and Zac, a bartender in a nightspot in Australia's largest city. When she visited the musical Mary Poppins as a child , she decided to become an actress herself and started her career in various commercials on Australian television, where she had her first assignment as a four-year-old.

Her first notable appearances in the film and television business came in the role of Lucy Stevens in the long-running Australian hit series All Saints , where she was seen in her recurring role in six different episodes. Just a year later, in 2006, she made a guest appearance on Superman Returns , a US production. After that, it was largely quiet around the young actress, who only returned to the screen in 2009, where she played the recurring character Rachel in the US series Legend of the Seeker .

In 2010 she was finally cast in the title and lead role of Judy Moody in the 2011 film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer . This brought her not only worldwide fame but also fame. At the 2012 Young Artist Awards, she and her fellow actors Parris Mosteller , Preston Bailey , Jackson Odell , Taylar Hender , Ashley Boettcher , Garrett Ryan and Cameron Boyce received a Young Artist Award in the category “Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Ensemble Cast “. In addition to this award, she was also nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category "Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress", but could not prevail against Chloë Grace Moretz , who received the prize for her performance in Hugo Cabret accepted.

Another film is already in pre-production in which Jordana Beatty can be seen in the main and title roles. In Eloise in Paris , based on the well-known book series Eloise by Kay Thompson and the illustrations by Hilary Knight , she was given the title role of Eloise and will appear in this alongside fellow actors like Uma Thurman , Billi Bruno and Nicky Jones . The first plans and the commitment of Uma Thurman were announced in 2007, Beatty's participation in the production was also announced in May 2008. A preliminary release date has not yet been announced.
