The Leutasch Valley , also known as the Leutasch , is a region in the municipality of Leutasch in North Tyrol , 20 kilometers northwest of Innsbruck , on the Bavarian border near Mittenwald .
Location and landscape
The valley extends along the middle course of the Leutascher Ache , which comes from the Gaistal (transition to Ehrwald ) from the west, and its tributary, the Ostbach , which comes from the southwest from Katzenloch in the Telfer area, extends to the northeast and ends at the Leutaschklamm at Mittenwald ( Porta Claudia ). Oberleutasch and Unterleutasch , each of which is made up of several locations, extend for about 13 kilometers .
The upper valley lies between the Mieminger chain ( Hohe Munde on the eastern edge 2662 m above sea level ) and the Seefeld plateau ( Hochmoos 1558 m above sea level ), the remaining course forms the southeast edge of the Wetterstein Mountains ( Leutascher Dreitorspitze 2682 m above sea level ). against the Arnspitz massif ( Große Arnspitze 2195 m above sea level ).

The valley belongs to the Olympiaregion Seefeld tourism region .
The Leutasch Straße (L 14) Seefeld - Mittenwald runs through the middle and lower Leutasch Valley (the designated state road ends between Lochlehn and Unterkirchen ), through the upper valley the Buchener Straße (L 35), Telfs - Buchen - Gasse , where it turns into L 14 opens.
