Jorge Eduardo Scheinig
Jorge Eduardo Scheinig (born June 5, 1959 in Carapachay , Gran Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Mercedes-Luján .
Life
Jorge Eduardo Scheinig received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of San Isidro on December 9, 1983 by its coadjutor bishop Alcides Jorge Pedro Casaretto . He graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina with a degree in pastoral theology .
On 18 May 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Ita and auxiliary bishop in Mercedes-Luján . The Archbishop of Mercedes-Luján, Agustín Roberto Radrizzani SDB , donated him the episcopal ordination on July 15 of the same year. Co-consecrators were the old bishop of San Isidro, Alcides Jorge Pedro Casaretto and his successor Óscar Vicente Ojea Quintana , Jorge Martín Torres Carbonell , auxiliary bishop in Lomas de Zamora , and the bishop of Zárate-Campana , Pedro María Laxague .
On October 4, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him archbishop and first metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján, which was made metropolitan seat on the same date. The inauguration took place on November 9th of the same year.
