Jorge Garcia (born April 28, 1973 in Omaha , Nebraska ) is an American actor , best known for his leading roles in the television series Lost and Hawaii Five-0 .

life and career

Jorge Garcia was born the son of a Chilean doctor and a Cuban teacher in Nebraska and grew up in Southern California.

He attended high school in San Clemente ; in seventh grade Garcia played the villain in a music production based on a comic strip . It was then that he realized that acting would open the door to show business for him. After college , he joined the Beverly Hills Playhouse, a theater and drama school that he has worked at ever since.

He also played supporting roles in many films and television series. He had an appearance in the US crime series Columbo (in the episode Columbo Likes the Nightlife , English title: The last party ). In the sixth season of the sitcom Becker , he plays an unemployed person. He plays a taxi driver in the first episode of the sixth season of Chaos City alongside Charlie Sheen . In the series Lost , Garcia played the leading role of Hugo "Hurley" Reyes from 2004 to 2010 . He will also take on a few supporting roles in the future.
