Jorge Leonardo Gómez Serna

Jorge Leonardo Gómez Serna OP (born November 7, 1942 in Marinilla ) is Bishop Emeritus of Magangué .

Life

Jorge Leonardo Gómez Serna joined the religious order of the Dominicans . Pope Paul VI ordained him a priest on August 22, 1968 .

On October 9, 1980 Pope appointed him John Paul II. To the prelates of Bertrania en el Catatumbo . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , Angelo Acerbi , on July 9, 1985; Co- consecrators were Mario Revollo Bravo , Archbishop of Bogotá , and Pedro Rubiano Sáenz , Archbishop of Cali .

On March 6, 1986, he was appointed Bishop of Socorro y San Gil . On November 3, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Magangué.

Pope Benedict XVI accepted his early resignation on July 30, 2012.
