Jorge Zulueta

Jorge Zulueta (born January 9, 1934 in Lomas de Zamora , Buenos Aires Province ) is an Argentine pianist .

Life

Franz Schreker's daughter Haidy (1910–1993) met the music student Jorge Zulueta through her husband Eugenio Bures (1901–1990), a piano teacher, in Argentina. The widow Maria Schreker (1892–1978) entrusted Zulueta with the estate of her deceased husband. In 1987, Zulueta became president of the “Société Franz Schreker” in Paris, initiated by Haidy Schreker.

In 1956 he won the Kranichstein Music Prize for Piano in Darmstadt. In 1968 he co-founded the “Grupo Acción Instrumental” in Buenos Aires. He published u. a. on Claude Debussy (1966), Arnold Schönberg (1965, with Jacobo Romano ) and Juan Carlo Paz (1975).
