José Alberto Cañas Ruiz-Herrera (born May 27, 1987 in Jerez de la Frontera ) is a Spanish football player . He has been under contract with FK Roter Stern Belgrade since 2019 .

Career

Cañas started his career at Betis Sevilla . He made his debut for the first division team on matchday 34 in 2008/09 against Atlético Madrid . At the end of the season, Betis was relegated. In 2011 he was able to celebrate the resurgence. In 2013 he moved to Wales for the European league team Swansea City . However, after a year he returned to Spain to Espanyol Barcelona .

In summer 2016 he moved to Greece to PAOK Thessaloniki .
